Who are SMS PLC?

What should I expect from my installation?

Once you’ve registered your interest for a Smart Meter and our roll-out is underway, SMS PLC will contact you on our behalf to arrange a suitable date and time for your smart meter installation. Once an appointment has been booked in, SMS PLC will provide regular reminders leading up to your appointment, including a reminder on the day. Remember – You or someone in your household over the age of 18 must be present during the visit, to ensure your smart meter installation can take place!

On arrival, the technician will be wearing an SMS PLC branded uniform and identification badge. Smart meter installations typically take around 1 hour per meter to complete, although some can take longer depending on circumstances on the day of the installation, such as the location of your meter. Once the installation has been completed, the technician will guide you through your new In-Home Display and provide you with some energy saving tips. They will then leave you to enjoy the benefits of your new smart meter!
